Breakfast buffet with the Keynote presentation by Brigadier General William C. Martin, followed by the second business plan competition video presentation.
Brigadier General William C. Martin began his military career in the Siena College ROTC program and quickly rose through the ranks. Along the way, he worked under General H. Norman Schwarzkopf in a variety of roles – from company commander, strategic analyst and speechwriter to operations officer in the Third Armored Calvary Regiment during the first Gulf War. Martin studied Schwarzkopf’s leadership skills and put them to use as the Deputy to New York’s Adjutant General, the de facto commander of the state’s military forces. He became the first and only military recipient of the state’s Alfred E. Smith Award, which is given annually to someone whose individual service and initiative exemplifies superior management and administration. Today, he is the president and founder of The Initiatives Group, a management consulting firm specializing in leader development and executive coaching.
